He said "six Syrian soldiers and 21 foreign fighters, including 11 Iranians" were among the dead.

That brings to 42, including 19 Iranians, the total killed during the two days of strikes.

Israel said the strikes were in response to a missile volley fired from southern Syria by Iran's Quds force, which struck the occupied Golan Heights without causing casualties.

Speaking in the north of Israel earlier Friday, Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman sent a message to Syrian President Bashar Assad, telling him to "throw" Iranian forces out of his country.

Housing Minister Yoav Galant said Saturday Israel would seek to totally remove Iran's military presence from Syria.

Iran denies that version of events, saying the Israeli strikes were launched on "invented pretexts".

Another reason for the change is the fact that Iran is now isolated from the world in everything related to Syria, and the global community's support for the Israeli airstrikes in the Arab country further stressed Iran's isolation.

"Syria will continue to strengthen its air defenses, attempt to interject and down every missile fired by Israel, and target any Israeli air force asset that infringes on Syrian national airspace", he said.

"They need to remember the saying that if it rains on us, it'll storm on them".

"I have established a basic principle: Whoever strikes us, we are going to strike them", Netanyahu said.

Not sure what that might be, but with a listing for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch one can't help but speculate. Potential typos aside, the last Forza game to release was Forza Motorsport 7 , which means a Horizon game should be next.

The Jewish state has long warned it will not accept Iran entrenching itself militarily in neighbouring Syria, where the Islamic Republic backs Assad's regime in the country's seven-year civil war.

The phone calls came a few days after US President Donald Trump defied protests and last-minute lobbying by his European partners and unilaterally chose to withdraw from the historic nuclear accord, officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), and impose new sanctions on Tehran.

"President Trump called on all nations to join the United States and the United Kingdom in making clear that the Iranian regime's actions pose a severe threat to worldwide peace and stability".

It reiterated that Iran was preparing to resume "industrial-scale" uranium enrichment "without any restrictions" unless Europe provided solid guarantees that it could maintain trade ties despite renewed USA sanctions.

The defense minister welcomed Iran's statement that it did not want an escalation between the two countries and stressed that Israel was also not looking for more confrontation with anyone.

Imad Moustapha told Russia's Sputnik news agency on Friday that Syria would shoot down missiles fired by Tel Aviv and target the regime's warplanes that violate the Syrian airspace.

Syria will further "not hesitate to launch its own retaliatory attacks onto Israeli military positions in accordance with its undisputed right of self-defense and holding the aggressor accountable", he added.

"Iran strongly condemns. [Israel's] attacks on Syria".

Iran condemned the Israeli air raid on Friday and said Syria had the right to defend itself against Israeli aggression.

Israel says it has conducted dozens of operations in Syria to stop what it says are advanced arms deliveries to one of its main foes, Iran-backed Hezbollah.
