Two people were injured in a shooting at a school in the US state of in on Friday, with a suspect taken into custody, police said.
An adult was taken to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Shots have been reported at a middle school in Noblesville, Indiana, a receptionist for the school district told CNN Friday.
The two victims were taken to local hospitals.
"We have multiple officers and a command post established at Noblesville High School and are diligently ensuring the safety of students and staff there".
Police and medical crews responded around 9 a.m. following reports of an active shooter situation at the school, located about 25 miles north of Indianapolis. One victim is a teacher that was shot while taking down the shooter.
Fire and police officials did not detail injuries, but WISH TV in Indianapolis reported that a 13-year-old student and an adult were in critical condition.
The shooter was not injured, police said. Police provided few other details, citing the ongoing investigation.
A teacher "swatted" the gun out of the shooter's hand when he entered a classroom, potentially saving students' lives, one seventh-grader told media.
Authorities do not believe there are any more suspects, but confirmed there have been additional threats made at other area schools, including one at Noblesville High School.

At a Friday afternoon press conference police said the IN school shooter asked to be excused from class, then returned with 2 handguns. "My prayers are w/the Noblesville community, especially those who are injured & those who witnessed an active shooter situation- something no one should ever have to go through".
Parents were advised that if they did not receive a phone call from school officials, their children were fine.
"The situation is contained", he said.
Aerial news video showed rows of students being evacuated and escorted to school buses.
Indiana State Police Superintendent Doug Carter said he had briefed Gov. Eric Holcomb as Holcomb returned from Europe.
"Today an unfortunate shooting at a school has occurred in Indiana".
She says: "I got a "Mom, I'm scared" text message and other than that, it was 'come get me at the high school'".
The incident occurred a week after a 17-year-old high school student in Santa Fe, Texas, near Houston shot and killed eight classmates and two teachers, the latest in a string of deadly shootings at US schools. All she said there was shooting at my kid's school.
