Employees of the Syrian centre for monitoring human rights, located in London, argue that in the conflict zone this week killed at least 26 Syrians and nine other Russians.

Four Russian soldiers have been killed by militants in Syria's eastern Deir Ezzor province, the defence ministry said on Sunday.

"Two Russian military adviser who ran the fire of the Syrian battery, died on the spot".

The Russian Defense Ministry is claiming four Russian troops were killed in the incident.

The remaining 26 were all Syrian troops, he told AFP. "Five more servicemen were injured and were taken to the hospital immediately", the statement reads.

Forty-three of the attacking militants were killed and six vehicles were destroyed, the ministry said.

It confirmed Russian military advisers were present during Wednesday's attack and were among those killed.

Russian Federation has lost about 90 personnel in the civil war.
