The Athletic: Cavaliers' Hood refused to enter fourth quarter of Game 4 against Raptors
In the first three games of the series, Hood scored a combined total of two points on 1-of-9 shooting over 39 minutes. They've already have more than enough in the past year, which plays benefits Hood's benefit this time. As reported by Jason Lloyd at The Athletic, Cavaliers swingman Rodney Hoodrefused to enter the game in the fourth quarter, despite pleas for him to do so from his coach and some veteran teammates. He's 2-for-15 from 3-point range in the postseason and a team-worst minus-67 in 170 playoff minutes.
On the broadcast, J.R. Smith could be seen talking to Hood outside the huddle, and Smith is shown talking to LeBron James on the bench soon afterwards.
Cleveland Cavaliers' Rodney Hood reacts during the first half of an NBA basketball game against the Philadelphia 76ers, Friday, April 6, 2018, in Philadelphia. "This isn't about you". The Cavs hammered the Toronto Raptors 128-93 to complete the four-game sweep in the Eastern semifinals, and in the fourth quarter Hood declined when the coaching staff tried to send him onto the court.
Whatever it takes, huh? Hood balked, and his refusal to play put him at odds with his team.

Hood has struggled in the playoffs after being acquired in a February trade from Utah.
Hood explained to Altman, according to a team source, that he said something to the effect of, "I'm good, I'm fine, play the other guys", when asked to go in Monday.
Hood missed games multiple times down the stretch with a lower back strain and a sore left Achilles, but Lloyd reported that "according to multiple people who witnessed the exchange, this had nothing to do with stiffness and everything to do with a young player pouting".
"The Cavs' front office and Hood had a conversation Tuesday morning, and Hood feels badly for causing a distraction at a time when the focus should be on Cleveland's sweep of the Raptors and spot in the conference finals".
