"Infinity War" is defined as just the fifth picture to bring in significantly more than $100 million into its second weekend at US theatres. Internationally, it grossed $162.6 million - including a $17.6 million opening in Russian Federation - taking its overseas total to $713.3 million. It just remains to be seen where Infinity War ends its run, and how many records it can break on the way there. Not long ago, it was "Black Panther", but things have changed as the film crowded with superheroes became the fastest movie to hit $1 billion globally.

Domestically, the film took in another US$112 million - the second biggest second weekend ever, behind Star Wars: The Force Awakens - and has now made US$450 million in the United States and Canada. The scene doesn't appear in Avengers: Infinity War at all, but it is especially misleading since it includes the Avengers' green goliath, the Hulk, who only appears briefly and early on in the film. The film stars Anna Faris and Eugenio Derbez as unlikely lovers, and was produced by MGM and Pantelion Films, a Lionsgate-backed production company aimed at Latino audiences.

Dwayne Johnson's Rampage, from Warner Bros., a unit of Time Warner (NYSE:TWX) rounded out the Top 5 with $4.6-M to finish Sunday with a global box office of $377.9-M.

"Bad Samaritan", starring David Tennant as a sadistic villain, scraped to $1.6 million in 2,007 theaters.

The more important question is whether A Quiet Place will quietly sneak its way to $200 million.

Black Panther added $3.14 million (GBP2.3 million) to its 12-week haul at seven and is now just $7 million (GBP5 million) from hitting $700 million at the North American box office.

"Avengers: Infinity War", $162.6 million.
