Amir Khan is looking forward to riding the wave of interest in British boxing generated by the likes of world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua when he fights in the United Kingdom for the first time in five years.

Amir Khan returns to boxing tonight to fight Canadian welterweight Phil Lo Greco.

His brash Canadian opponent had no answer to Khan's lightning start and a blazing right hand sent Lo Greco crumpling to the canvas.

In his first fight in almost two years, Khan announced he is still in business with his quickest professional win in a welterweight contest that was scheduled for 12 rounds at the Echo Arena, Liverpool.

"I'll fight Kell Brook and I'll beat Kell Brook", he boldly declared. "I'm a better fighter and a stronger fighter". Kell Brook has been living off my name for a long time.

Khan at only 31, feels the two year lay off has done his body good, and clearing up personal distractions that were hindering him before he feels he is a new man ready to show the boxing world he can compete with anyone.

"I have been out the ring for two years but I was still in the gym working hard, I have never taken a day off. My ambition was to come back and win another world title, and if I can't win against Lo Greco, it's all over for me".

Christina Hodson , who wrote the Transformers spinoff film Bumblebee , penned this one and is set to script Batgirl for DC next. There have also been rumors of a David Ayer directed female villain team up in Gotham City Sirens .

When Khan resumed his attack with fast and furious punches, Lo Greco folded on the ropes and the fight was waved off.

"I want to thank all the fans for turning out and enjoying my victory".

"It was a great performance from Amir Khan", said the promoter. I've changed my trainer, I had to make changes.

"I came here to do a job, a clinical job". This is where me and Eddie need to sit down with Kell's team.

As for a bout with Brook, Khan, most famous recently for his "jungle" appearance in the British television show "I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here", said: "That fight is something I am not rushing and not running away from".

Brook responded: "He doesn't want the fight".
