Facebook wiped Zuckerberg's conversations from people's inboxes

When reached for a comment on Friday, a Facebook spokesperson conceded the company was too slow in responding toreports about the incendiary messages. But waiting until it was confronted with evidence of the deletions and public backlash shows Facebook is only being transparent with users when forced.
The company is facing a global backlash over the improper data-sharing scandal.
Those measures include preventing third-party access to event information and acting as a gatekeeper to third-party apps that require access to pages and personal information of users. Neither can they opt entirely out of Facebook's data collection.

"Our joint hearing will be a public conversation with the CEO of this powerful and influential company about his vision for addressing problems that have generated significant concern about Facebook's role in our democracy, bad actors using the platform and user privacy".
