Fire Erupts in Trump Tower Building in Azerbaijan's Capital Baku (VIDEO)
Footage from the scene - including a video posted on YouTube that appears to have been shot surreptitiously through a curtained window - shows flamed bursting from the windows, as firefighters train jets of water on the blaze.
A fire has broken out at the Trump Tower building in Baku, Azerbaijan.
The blaze took three hours to douse, and there were no injuries, officials said.
The cause of the fire is unclear at this stage with no immediate reports of casualties.
Firefighters have put out the fire that broke out in a high-rise building in Baku, APA reported. The fire only affected the façade of a skyscraper, not penetrated inside the building.
The construction of the tower began in 2008 and lasted seven years.
Efforts to battle Saturday's fire were complicated by the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, which is being held Sunday in the city and has led to road closures.
The Trump Tower project was leased to Garant Holding, a business conglomerate owned by Anar Mammadov, the son of former Azeri transport minister Ziya Mammadov, in 2012. The president's company pulled out of the project in December 2016, after he was elected, due to controversy over affiliation with the project's owners, Baku XXI Century, and a local family accused of corruption.
