Ariana Grande pays tribute to Manchester in new single No Tears Left To Cry
While Grande has yet to comment on McHale's love for her new song, a source close to the singer exclusively told Us Weekly on Thursday, April 19, that she was "more excited than nervous" to release her new tunes.
The tweet turned out to be a tease of what fans would see in the music video, which features Grande in gravity-defying conditions. Along with her new single, Ariana has released a stunning video, directed by Dave Meyers.
Intentional or not, the umbrella dance sequence in the "No More Tears To Cry" video has put a lot of fans in mind of Ariana's first ever music video for "Put Your Hearts Up", which followed her success on the Nickelodeon show, "Victorious".
Many people thanked Ariana for including such a "thoughtful nod" to Manchester in her return song. Before Tuesday Grande had not posted since January 1 and she told her followers "miss you".
"She felt everything - every face they announced, every name, she wore on her sleeve". Months later, she returned to the studio to work on her upcoming album. "Don't matter how, what, where, who tries it / We're out here vibing", Grande sings, a line evidently aimed at anyone who thinks such an attack would make people abandon the pursuit of pleasure.
