Actress Rita Moreno wore the same dress she wore in 1962 to the 2018 Oscars
Moreno, who revealed to Vanity Fair earlier Sunday that she'd be wearing the gown she wore when she took home a golden statue for "West Side Story", presented at tonight's ceremony.
It was the year she won her Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her role as Anita in West Side Story. Making a slight change to the silhouette, Moreno turned the high, boat neckline cut of the dress into a strapless neckline. Otherwise, she even kept on the same now-vintage opera gloves. Now serving as one of the evening's presenters, she continues to blaze her own trail by proving that a truly great look never goes out of style-no matter how often you wear it. Go long, and winners might get Lakeith Stansfield screaming "Get out!" as the actor briefly reprised his character from the Oscar-nominated "Get Out" on stage. With the exact same dress that she recycled, she appeared on the red carpet looking both the same and different from her look at the 1962 Academy Awards. "They're usually folded over and over, and this is one piece of fabric", she explains to E!
Floodwaters Recede With More Rain Ahead Drier weather will return to Greater Lafayette beginning Sunday afternoon and linger through the middle part of next week. The Ohio River isn't quite finished with our area yet, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, Ohio.
Rita Moreno in the dress in 1962. "I was sure it was going to be Judy Garland it was a big deal. I ordered a heavily brocaded dress made of special Japanese obi fabric, a gorgeous gown with black bateau top that I still have (and can still get into, happily)", she wrote in the book.
Perhaps we could take a few tips from Rita Moreno on how to keep our clothes timeless because it looks like it could've been made yesterday! I didn't care. The important thing was that I was going! "Mostly I wish I had accepted on behalf of my people that would have been so wonderful, but I swear it was so unexpected".
