Box Office – Anushka Sharma’s Pari Is Following Similar Trending As Her Phillauri
Anushka Sharma won hearts with her recently released movie Pari. The couple was seen giving tight hugs to each other and they just went all smiles on their faces all the time. Anushka Sharma has scared the fans after being loved as a friendly spirit in her previous film Phillauri. The total box office collection of the opening weekend now stands at Rs 15.34 crore.
Directed by Prosit Roy, the film also features Parambrata Chatterjee and Rajat Kapoor in pivotal roles. The film was released on March 2. The film, despite a limited release in South India owing to a film industry strike, has earned over Rs 4 crores on its opening day. Maybe the film can pick well from Saturday and gets most of it on Sunday. The movie had registered a business of Rs 20 crore in 3 weeks. The film continues to receive competition from last week's release, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, which turned out to be a favourite among movie goers. Let's take a look at the numbers. On fifth day, the celluloid can earn up to Rs 2 crore only when it witnesses more than 5 % occupancy in the cinema halls and multiplexes situated across the nation.
Indian Express film critic, Shubhra Gupta in her review for indianexpress.com wrote, "Anushka Sharma plays Rukhsana with a great deal of bloody enthusiasm". The film has set a new benchmark in the Hindi horror genre. Earlier, our co-production PadMan was banned in Pakistan for being anti-Islamic.
