And after close to 10 hours of push and shove, the Immigration Department attempted to bungle him into an Emirates Flight, but Miguna resisted the move and has been detained at the JKIA since then.

Shortly before his deportation, which came after Odinga enraged the government by staging a symbolic "swearing-in ceremony", Miguna was charged with treason.

"Four hundred people were killed [during last year's post-election violence] like insects, people have been maimed, thousands of them by a despotic police force".

The Law Society of Kenya wants the Immigration department to clear lawyer Miguna Miguna for entry into the country.

"Explain the circumstances that led to the clobbering of Stephen Letoo, a Citizen Television journalist and Robert Gichira, an NTV Cameraman, at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport; state the action that will be taken on the police officers who clobbered the journalists and confirm if the government shall compensate the two for the injuries sustained", the nominated Senator said.

In sworn case documents, the lawyers claimed that Dr Miguna has been held incommunicado in a toilet at Terminal 2 at Nairobi's JKIA and that his Canadian passport has been withheld.

A local college student said, "I think that's rather comical". "It's absurd, arm the teachers", said a parent in Schuylkill Haven. The district contains some 2,700 students at three elementary schools, one middle school and one high school.

Live footage broadcast by private Kenyan TV station Citizen showed Miguna in the doorway of what appeared to be an Emirates plane shouting at a crew member: "I'm not going anywhere, you can not take me from my country by force".

On Tuesday, Joseph Munywoki, Kenyan immigration services director, released a statement saying: "Miguna automatically lost his citizenship in 1998 when he acquired Canadian citizenship at a time when Kenya did not allow dual citizenship, instead of producing the requisite documents he had exited with from Canada".

"We have not denied him (entry), we just need him to follow the process like everybody else", Interior Ministry spokesman Mwenda Njoka told Reuters via phone.

Miguna Miguna was nearly deported again last night as revealed by several videos making rounds on social media.

The scuffle at the airport comes after Odinga and Kenyatta announced they would heal their divisions and vowed to unify Kenya in a surprise announcement on March 9.
