'Fortnite' Gets Xbox One Cross-Platform Support

Phil Spencer Wants Xbox/PlayStation Cross Platform Play in Fortnite

On the Epic Games website it says 'We expect to rollout Android in the next few months'. Epic Games has now opened up invitations to their Fortnite Mobile gaming on the Apple iOS platform. Regardless of your platform of choice, here's who you can - and can't - play Fortnite with.

With a partnership with Sony, "Fortnite" will also support cross-platform play between PlayStation 4, PC, Mac, iOS, and Android. While mobile games do not usually have a cross-play with the PC servers, "Fornite" mobile will actually have support for cross-play with the PC.

Once you signup, you will then have to wait until invites are sent out via email, which Epic has stated should be sent out "soon". "We've been cooperating with them throughout the most recent a while to make this conceivable, and will expedite this usefulness to Fortnite players Xbox ideal alongside different stages".

It's already available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Windows and Mac computers, and last week Epic Games announced it would be coming to mobile too. It's still disappointing that the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game do not have that functionality with each other, but something is better than nothing, right?

Plus, Fortnite Battle Royale will eventually see a full commercial release.

In any case, what fans truly need is cross-stage play amongst PS4 and Xbox One.

For now mobile version of the game will only be available on iOS 11, with plans to launch on Android some time in the future.

Other parents have defended the game, pointing out its colorful and nearly cartoonish appearance in comparison to darker more realistic "shooter" games, like "Call of Duty".

Epic game has also promised a variety of features for the game which includes your stats carrying over to your phone game, and even the implementation of cross-play.
