If you haven't updated to the latest version, you should expect it in the next few days.
SnapChat's support account was quick to reply, "Sorry to hear you feel this way".
Snap CEO Evan Spiegel said the redesign would make "our application simpler and easier to use".
In its dramatic new redesign, SnapChat has dropped its dedicated Stories page - dropping the content amongst private messages in a single feed. But users are not happy with the redesign.
Snapchat still opens to the camera like before, but most of the other features have been shuffled around. Snapchat Filters work similarly, by letting you swipe to see frames around your photos and videos, although Snap already started letting users create custom frames in 2016.
You could also lose your Memories if you reinstall Snapchat. It means you'll no longer have to scroll through the Chats to find the right person.
The order in which you view Stories is also different, instead of it being chronological like it used to be, the Friends page ranks your contacts "based on who you keep in touch with the most and who's contacted you most recently", Snapchat says. The Discover page is now arranged in a vertical pattern.
One of Snapchat's spokespersons released a statement saying, "Updates as big as this one can take a little getting used to, but we hope the community will enjoy it once they settle in". Join here for the latest on how people are making money - and how they're losing it. The free Lens Studio launched in December for more technically savvy creators to build 3D visuals like Snapchat's popular dancing hot dog; today, the studio will let users choose from at least 150 templates for custom Lenses, which you can personalize with text and emoji fairly quickly.
A similar petition with more than 4,000 signatures laments that the app is "too over complicated" now, with one supporter noting that they're "more likely to win the lottery than be able to get the hang of this shitty update".
Many people are even threatening to delete the app over the forced update.
Android users can do so by going to the Play Store, opening the main menu Settings, and then disabling the Auto-update feature.
Here's how to turn off automatic Snapchat updates and ensure you retain your social media sanity. Once you do that, uninstall the newer version of the app. Android uses APK files for apps. Custom Lenses are only available for iOS users in the United States for now, but Snap is working to roll out the feature globally, and for Android devices.
Another added: "For the love of god remove the new update". You can grab Snapchat's APK file from the /data/app/folder. Once it's been located, just tap on it to install the old Snapchat design on your Android phone.
Thankfully, technology blog Tech Advisor believes it's possible to roll-back to the previous version of the app. Then, connect your iPhone to your computer and open iTunes. Select the option to "Install" and then sync your device. Hit the Install button and sync your device. You'll just be using the old copy of the app that's still saved in your iTunes library.
