The Popcorn Stand: What does the Super Bowl mean?

RANKED! Every Super Bowl halftime show, from Michael Jackson to Lady Gaga

It's been fourteen years since we have seen either Janet Jackson or Justin Timberlake perform at the Super Bowl halftime show.

Although Timberlake said that he won't have any special guests, TMZ is reporting that he might bring out a Prince hologram during his performance.

'Family, I spoke with Justin tonight and he shared heartfelt words of respect for Prince and the Purple fans.

While recent shows have featured such high-profile performers at Beyonce, Madonna, Bruno Mars, Bruce Springsteen, Prince, The Rolling Stones and Paul McCartney, not all Super Bowl shows feature music superstars.

Sheila E., Prince's longtime friend and drummer, first tweeted her reservations about the plans after the rumors spread online.

Assuming that Prince's holographic performance takes place as reported, this won't be his first Super Bowl appearance.

Timberlake's fascination and kinship with Prince had many guessing there would be a hologram of the purple one somewhere in the halftime extravaganza.

With the New England Patriots taking on the Philadelphia Eagles at Super Bowl LII on Sunday, Timberlake and his new band - the Tennessee Kids - will provide the half-time entertainment while Pink is to sing the United States national anthem.

Lady Gaga appeared to jump off of the roof at NRG stadium when she performed at the Super Bowl 2017 halftime show.

When fans asked him to elaborate he confirmed that he had not authorised the use of Prince's image in a hologram, nor was it going to go ahead. That whole virtual reality thing, it really is demonic. And I'm not a demon, ' Prince said during an interview.

"I will be in the tunnel prior to the halftime show, and then during the halftime show actually centered on about the 45 yard line behind the camera men", she says, "It's a quite awesome view".

Lopez headlined the DIRECTV NOW Super Saturday Night concert at Nomadic Live at The Armory, working the stage with sizzling and sharp dance moves and singing hits like "I'm Real" and "Love Don't Cost a Thing". "I don't want to get all mushy but baby this song is for you", said Lopez.
