Microsoft ditches passwords in latest build of Windows 10 S

"Just download the Authenticator App and use it to set up your Windows 10 S PC", instructed Dona Sarkar, head of the Windows Insider Program, and Brandon LeBlanc, senior program manager at Microsoft, in February 7 blog post. It's bringing Progressive Web Apps (not to be confused with Universal Windows Platform apps, many of which are glorified websites) to Windows 10 with a new version of Edge that supports the necessary web technologies. Microsoft is saying that it's a very new tool, and it doesn't look like it may take a lot of extra testing to get it working properly. With Windows 10 S you don't have to!

The latest Insider Preview updates from Redmond further signals a new era where access and security are more tightly interwoven than before.

Eye Control improvements: This feature introduced with the Fall Creators Update has been improved with easier controls for scrolling, quicker access to common tasks and the ability to pause (hiding the launchpad) when you need to.

Find the Advanced graphics settings in the Settings System Display section and then you will see the dialogue box above. By default, it uses full display brightness, so you'll want to change that if you're not plugged in. Today's test build allows users to delete that data. The new panel will allow users to override the OS' choice of GPU for an app and directly specify whether to use the most efficient adapter or the one with the highest performance. Also, there might be some consumer-centric announcements related to Cortana, Windows 10, and Microsoft Edge. In Settings Apps Video playback "if the "Stream HDR video" toggle can be switched to "On", your device can be calibrated for HDR video", explains Microsoft.

Talking about security, Windows Defender is now Windows Security in Settings, and the window has been remodeled. Moreover, there is a new "Clutter-free printing" option that can remove ads and more for certain type of web pages.

Windows 10 now supports up to three Latin script languages for multilingual text predictions.
