Israeli lightly wounded in West Bank stabbing, attacker shot dead
Israeli soldiers launched a manhunt for the suspect in the area early on Tuesday, Bethlehem-based Ma'an News Agency said. A second security guard shot the assailant to death, the Israel defence Forces said. "A report regarding a Palestinian being killed and several injured... is being reviewed". They also demolished a wall and a shed, and uprooted many olive trees, as they set up a permeter around the "wanted" man's location.
It identified the victim as Khaled Waleed al-Tayeh, a young man from Nablus, who arrived dead at the al-Najjah Hospital in the city.
Medical sources in Hebron said the soldiers shot at least 29 Palestinians with live rounds and rubber-coated steel bullets and caused many to suffer the severe effects of teargas inhalation, in addition to assaulting three with clubs and batons.
Tensions have risen in the West Bank since U.S. President Donald Trump's December 6 recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital, overturning decades of U.S. policy that its status should be decided in Israeli-Palestinian negotiations.
As Yameen's rule tighten, emergency declared in Maldives Amnesty International also demanded the release of the judges and opposition politicians it says were arbitrarily detained. He also asked the U.S. to restrict Maldivian leaders' transactions through USA banks. "We must remove him from power".
Shaath also reported that the Japanese officials, including the Foreign Minister Taro Kono and other MPs, had announced their support for an worldwide peace conference to solve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict based on global resolutions.
The forces will operate primarily in the northern West Bank, where the primary points of friction have been, the army said.
In an apparent search for his attacker, Israeli forces raided the West Bank city of Nablus late Tuesday, sparking clashes that left a Palestinian dead.
During the clashes, which took place following the killing of two Palestinians on Tuesday, and another one on Wednesday morning, IOF fired teargas towards the protesters, and arrested four youths.
