Anshu Prakash row: Delhi govt officials to observe five-minute silence every day
"There was no incident of assault or attempted assault by any AAP MLAs", a statement from Kejriwal's office said.
Barely 24 hours later, a mob attacked AAP leaders - minister Imran Hussain and Ashish Khetan, the vice-chairman of a Delhi government commission - at the secretariat at noon on Tuesday while Prakash was meeting lieutenant-governor Anil Baijal.
AAP has fallen in trouble as some of its MLAs have been charged with assaulting Delhi's Chief Secretary. MLA Prakash Jarwal has been arrested in connection with an alleged attack on Anshu Prakash. The developments threatened to grow into a full blown confrontation between the AAP dispensation and the BJP-ruled Centre, as Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh sought a report on the issue from the Lt Governor, even as the Kejriwal regime accused the BJP of using officers to create obstacles in its work.
Khan, the Okhla MLA, was picked up from Jamia Nagar around 11.30 am on the basis of an FIR against him, Delhi Police DCP Madhur Verma told reporters.
The Indian Forest Service (IFS) officers association has expressed deep concern on the condemnable incident. "The allegation of assault is totally freaky and baseless", a senior official in the chief minister's office said.
All India IPS Association tweeted in support, "We stand with Mr Anshu Prakash at this moment".
The chief minister's office has remained steadfast in its denial of the chief secretary's allegations while the AAP has dismissed the accusation as "bizarre, ludicrous and baseless".
The AAP on Tuesday came under fire from the Delhi IAS body, which announced a strike following alleged misbehaviour against the Delhi CS in the midnight meeting called by the Delhi CM at his residence. "It was made a decision to continue peaceful protest against alleged assault of Prakash and work only through formal channels of communication", a statement issued by the associations stated.
He says Jain informed him about the meeting earlier Monday. He demanded that LG should immediately meet Kejriwal so as to restore confidence among administrative officers. Officers wore black bands as a mark of protest but attended their respective offices, while two AAP Ministers attended their offices. But my staff got beaten up in the process.
"IAS officers across the country work under hard situations and they are required to take decisions that are correct as per law and may not meet the expectations or illegitimate demands of political masters". In his petition, Wahi submitted that people of Delhi would suffer if "elected (MLAs) and selected (bureaucrats)" fight among themselves.
"The Delhi secretariat is a high-security zone and no one can enter without clearance and reference".
