Cavs forward Kevin Love breaks hand

Stanley Johnson scored a career-high 26 points, and the depleted Detroit Pistons snapped their eight-game losing streak by defeating the visiting Cleveland Cavaliers 125-114 on Tuesday.

Tuesday's hand injury will put Love's availability for the All-Star Game next month in jeopardy. But this comes at a particularly damning time for the Cavaliers. It was the Cavs' 11th loss in their last 16 games.

Think LeBron James misses Kyrie Irving yet? Cleveland won the first game between the teams, and they meet only three times total this season - including a March 27 game in Miami, the Cavaliers' only visit to South Florida this season. There is a very real problem in the Cavs locker room right now, and if they don't fix it, they'll likely be sitting out the Finals this year. Anthony Tolliver scored all 20 of his points in the second half.

He removed himself from the game immediately in the first quarter, received an X-ray, and was transported by vehicle back to Cleveland from Detroit after talking to his teammates at halftime, per ESPN's Dave McMenamin. X-rays showed a fracture. His status will be updated after additional examination and consultation tomorrow in Cleveland, per the Cavs.

"When it rains it pours".

Cleveland has been a magnet to injuries all season, as other major pieces like Thomas, Tristan Thompson, and Derrick Rose all missed significant time this season.

It is Drummond's second All-Star selection, having averaged 14.7 points, 15.1 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game.

"It's a huge blow for our team. We're already limited in our bigs anyway, so we even get a lot smaller now". The team is one game above.500 going into Tuesday night's game against Portland. "As far as Kevin, it's a tough break because he's been playing so well".

"I'm excited", Drummond said after scoring 21 points and grabbing 22 rebounds. "My body's not allowing me to do that". Furthermore, the Heat, who rank 25th in free throw attempt (FTA) rate (0.172), will battle against the Cavaliers, who rank first in opponents' FTA rate (0.160).

The Cavs ended up taking a 63-59 lead into halftime.
