Hulu has dropped the first trailer for The Handmaid's Tale Season 2 and it is intense-even by Handmaid's Tale standards.

Elisabeth Moss, Joseph Fiennes, Yvonne Strahovski, Samira Wiley, Alexis Bledel, Ann Dowd, Max Minghella and Madeline Brewer all return for the second installment.

The first two episodes of Season Two will be available on Hulu on April 25, 2018, and new episodes will air every Wednesday. The streamer released the first teaser trailer for the show's upcoming sophomore outing early Sunday, teasing a new batch of episodes that are just as creepy and captivating as the first.

When the show ended its first season past year, its main character, Offred, was captured by authorities, while her friend Moira escaped into Canada.

The new season, titled "Kiri" - which recently debuted in the United Kingdom - will follow the abduction of a young black girl, named Kiri, who is soon-to-be-adopted by her white foster family, and the trail of lies, blame, guilt and notoriety that follow.

While HBO's Big Little Lies was the top victor at last weekend's Golden Globes ceremony, The Handmaid's Tale didn't walk away empty handed.

Littlefield admitted that the new season has a bigger budget than the first - a product, he noted, was out of necessity to expand the world and not so much the Emmy darling's runaway success. I think we're living in an Atwood world.

By the end of The Handmaid's Tale season one finale, Offred, a.k.a. June (Elisabeth Moss), learned she was pregnant.

"Everything from the design of their costumes to the way they look is so chilling", Miller told EW. Since Season 1 followed pretty closely to the book, Season 2 is "uncharted territory".
