Huawei wins patent infringement case against Samsung

Huawei lost AT&T and Verizon due to political pressure but gains Wonder Woman

No one has officially said why AT&T walked away from the partnership, but U.S. lawmakers reportedly have security concerns with Huawei selling a consumer product through a major United States mobile carrier. In this particular ruling, the South Korean company has been ordered to pay a fee to the court - one described as "small" - but no further monetary charges were applied.

The China-based telecom operator Huawei failed to make a deal to sell its new smartphones through the United States operator.

The Chinese electronics manufacturer is one of the leading companies in the world that is dominating the smartphone-making scene. Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei's consumer products division, addressed the void agreement at his CES keynote speech, in which he presented the Mate10 Pro for the USA market.

"Everybody knows that in the USA market that over 90 percent of smartphones are sold by carrier channels", Yu said. The next step for Samsung would be to obtain a proper license for the patents from Huawei.
