You know Gronk's gonna play

In Friday's injury report, Gronkowski was listed as out because of his concussion.

The second-quarter hit sidelined Gronkowski for the rest of the AFC title game, and since he's yet to clear the NFL's concussion protocol, he's listed as questionable for the Super Bowl and did not practice through Friday.

The only other player listed as "out" on the Friday's injury report - during which the National Football League compelled teams to issue declarations for a hypothetical game on Sunday - was rookie defensive end Deatrich Wise, who's also been dealing with a concussion.

Gronkowski left the team's AFC Championship victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars in the first half Sunday after a helmet-to-helmet hit by safety Barry Church. It's likely that the Patriots keep expressing optimism for Gronk's return to the lineup for Super Bowl LII against Philadelphia.

He made his return to the practice field as well.

"It's always great to have him out there", quarterback Tom Brady said Saturday.

He would not have been able to play Sunday had there been a game.

The team is not required to release another injury report until Wednesday.

However, his presence means a whole heckuva lot for New England. He then re-signed with the Patriots, but only appeared in two games before being placed on season-ending injured reserve. And, it has huge implications for the Super Bowl. And the chances of each playing in Super Bowl LII just went way up.

"I've never taken anything like this for granted, and I think we're all very fortunate to be in this game", he said.
