Launching a scathing attack on the upcoming tour of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, CPI (M) mouthpiece People's Democracy, in an edit published on Thursday, said that he was not welcome in India.
The commitment is in addition to the India-Israel Industrial R&D and Technological Innovation Fund of United States dollars 40 million over five years with equal contribution from both sides that has already been agreed between the two sides, deputy Director General of Israel's Foreign Ministry, Gilad Cohen, told PTI. According to the MEA, Netanyahu will visit India from 14-19 January.
In Gujarat, the two prime ministers will visit the Center of Excellence in Vadrad and inaugurate a Center of Excellence for date palms in Bhuj via video conference.
Prime Minister Modi's visit was a very important milestone in that.
"It does not nullify the fact that with India, with other countries in Latin America and Africa there is a tremendous increase of relations on all fronts", the Israeli Prime Minister noted.
Netanyahu will arrive at around noon on Sunday, and meet External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj.
Bhaskar said the ties between the two countries have been expanding in the areas of agriculture, water, innovation, entrepreneurship development, space, education, culture, homeland security and defence.
The Israeli Prime Minister would be formally welcomed the next day at the Rashtrapari Bhawan following which he would lay wreath at Rajghat.
Netanyahu, accompanied by his wife Sara, would be travelling to Agra to see the Taj Mahal on Tuesday and return to Delhi to participate in the Raisina Dialogue. They will also visit the iCreate innovation campus and center.
Netanyahu's trip "is the grand finale to the celebrations of 25 years of (the) growing partnership between India and Israel".
In Mumbai, Netanyahu will highlight the importance of fighting terrorism.
The Mumbai leg includes Netanyahu's film industry outreach - Shalom Bollywood, an interaction with the Jewish community and a meeting with business heads.
