St. Petersburg Offers to Recycle Your Christmas Tree
Baltimore County collectors will pick up Christmas trees in standard trash/recycling trucks, and deliver them to county facilities to be chipped and later used as mulch.
"Our Environmental Management Department is going to be offering free Christmas tree recycling beginning on December 26 through January 15 for New Hanover County residents", Communications and Outreach Coordinator for New Hanover County Jessica Loeper said.
- Real Christmas trees are a renewable, recyclable resource.
For those in the Cape Fear Region who celebrated Christmas with a live Christmas Tree and who are wondering what to do with the tree, look no further.
Beginning Tuesday, trees are being accepted at more than 30 drop-off locations from Boulder City to Summerlin, and Southern Highlands to North Las Vegas.
Local municipalities and businesses are also encouraged to call the IDNR office to donate collected or unsold trees.
Trees and other holiday rubbish left curbside outside of regular pickup days is not only un-merry, it's also a violation of city ordinance.
Now that the presents are unwrapped and the cookies eaten, it's time to get rid of the Christmas tree.
But those trees will end up in the landfill along with the approximate 210,000 tons - that's 420 million pounds - of waste we put into the Laubscher Meadows landfill in Vanderburgh County every year.
Because the trees will be mulched, CCH asks residents to remove any ornaments or wreaths before bringing the trees to be recycled. Christmas trees (no lights, decorations, tinsel, bags, tree stands, etc.) may be taken to any one of the county's three drop-off locations.
