Street Fighter Collection announced with 12 games spanning 30 years

Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection Features Almost All the Street Fighter

The Street Fighter series is huge and it has a huge fan base.

Prior to Sunday's Capcom Cup Top 8 action kicked off a full day of Street Fighter V action, Capcom made a decision to look back at the vast history of Street Fighter.

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of one of the world's most popular video game series of all time, Capcom has announced the ultimate tribute to the Street Fighter arcade legacy in the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and Windows PC coming in May 2018.

The timing is very suspect though, as the original Street Fighter was first released on August 30, 1987. In addition, three of the games feature an online mode-Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting, Super Street Fighter II: Turbo, and Street Fighter Alpha 3. Happy days indeed for Street Fighter devotees. These include ranked matches, casual matches, lobbies, and leaderboards.

We're not going to look a gift horse in the mouth though, as four of the games will have online options as well, namely Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting, Super Street Fighter II Turbo, Street Fighter Alpha 3, and Street Fighter III: Third Strike. There are 12 iconic titles in the 30th Anniversary Collection. To mark that debut, Capcom are all set to release a fully featured anniversary collection, bringing together 12 games from the fighting game franchise.

As well as the games, the package will include a nice selection of added extras for fans, including character bios, a "museum" of concept art and game trivia, and all the original music.

Players will also finally be able to take part in Street Fighter multiplayer action via online connection.
