A brutal year for Eli Apple came to an end Wednesday as the Giants suspended their second-year corner

The Giants drafted Apple 10th overall out of Ohio State in 2016, and he had some success a year ago, starting the last 10 games, but 2017 has been a worse season, with off-field family drama, poor on-field play and even a fine from the team for tweeting on the sidelines. All-Pro safety Landon Collins called Apple a "cancer" and said that he needs to "grow up" during an interview with 98.7 ESPN New York on Tuesday, a sentiment that Collins and other Giants teammates have shared to the media in recent weeks. Apple was declared inactive for a game shortly after his mother underwent brain surgery. His four-year, $15.1 million rookie deal as the No. 10 pick in the 2016 NFL Draft was fully guaranteed at signing, but this suspension could void all remaining guarantees in his contract. Besides that, the other two guys, DRC (Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie) and Jackrabbit (Janoris Jenkins), I love those two guys.

But Collins tweeted out Wednesday morning that he's extended an olive branch to Apple. and has since apologized to the rest of his teammates.

While there was tension between Apple and former head coach Ben McAdoo, it appears that wasn't the entire problem with his time in NY.

The Giants, who are 2-13 this season, mercifully play the last game of their season on Sunday.

Not only is Apple's season over, it's quite possible his Giants career is now over. "But that first pick, I don't think... he's a cancer". They play hard. They love what they do.

Apple has been going through personal issues in his life recently as well.

The following day, Apple denied he had any conversation with Collins, who was livid when told about Apple's comments. I guess he don't remember things, "Collins said on December 14 when reporters relayed Apple's reaction". I don't want to start no controversy with my teammate. He's dealt with a hip injury and had a reported blow-up at coaches during a critical film session.

"Landon? No", Apple said.

Only 36 Percent Would Vote For Trump In 2020
The November 21 national poll found 60% of US women say they've been sexually harassed; Trump job approval still stuck below 40%. That's a significant drop from the 45% approval rating that Trump had in March, shortly after taking office.
