Former 'Glee' star Naya Rivera charged in domestic battery against husband
A discussion between Naya Rivera and her husband, Ryan Dorsey, during Thanksgiving weekend became heated when the actress allegedly attacked her partner by injuring him on the lip and head.
He then released hit single "IDFWU", which appeared to throw shade at his relationship with Rivera.
But after this past Saturday night, when Rivera was arrested and charged with misdemeanor domestic battery after an alleged altercation with her husband Ryan Dorsey, he may have been telling the truth the whole time.
According to the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office, Ryan gave the police a video of the attack while Naya was being taken into custody.
According to the criminal complaint obtained by Radar, Deputy T.S. Dubiel says he was dispatched around 9:30 pm to a "domestic situation". On Sunday morning, she was taken to Kanawha County Magistrate Court, where she was arraigned and bond was set at $1,000. Later on, she was picked up by her father-in-law.
Kalea Gunderson, a reporter from WCHS-TV, shared a video of Naya's arraignment on Twitter which shows the teary-eyed actress standing before a judge.
She is known for playing Santana Lopez on "Glee". If convicted, Rivera could be sentenced to a maximum of a year in prison and a fine of up to $500. Rivera filed for divorce in 2016, but called off the separation last month.
Rivera and Dorsey, also an actor, announced they would be divorcing last November, but called the split off this October. The couple was reportedly arguing over their 2-year-old son, Josey.
