Microsoft is now reported to be working with Razer, to sell the new Android smartphone from the gaming company. Pre-orders should start any moment now and sales in the launch countries kick off on November 17. Can it really compete with the likes of Apple, Google, and Samsung, all of whom have poured hundreds of research hours into building the flawless smartphone camera?
Targeted at the niche community of serious mobile gamers, Razer Phone is first of its kind Android smartphone.
Razer told me repeatedly that it was always part of the plan to come out with a phone, even if that means launching a phone into a mature marketplace. This is not to say that the Razer Phone will automatically have poor battery life, but to illustrate that there are some factors in play that could pull a 4,000 mAh battery down to Earth.
But if you don't want to eat through that big phone battery by playing games at insane speeds, Razer has brought over another big feature from PC gaming: Choice. The Qualcomm Quick Charge 4 technology on its USB-C port will also enable users to get it up and running fast when it does run out of juice. To get the best possible audio experience, each speakers comes with its own dedicated amp. This area also provides a good place for your thumbs to rest while you're jamming away on whatever game you're going at, as long as it plays in landscape mode. In terms of design, the Razer Phone is reminiscent of the Nextbit Robin, the cloud-first smartphone from 2015.
The giant 5.72-inch Quad HD screen boasts zero lag with no stuttering, delivering vibrant and sharp images with a wide colour gamut.
Razer has unveiled the Razer Phone, an Android smartphone which features a 120Hz UltraMotion screen and powerful performance.
Along with its gaming credentials, the Razer Phone features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, 8GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage which is expandable. It also has no headphone jack and enormous bezels, though the speaker quality is reportedly excellent. The 120Hz refresh rate of Razer Phone is similar with the current iPad Pro 10.5.
Whats the most notable thing is the missing fingerprint sensor on the phone. It runs on Android 7.1.1 out-of-the-box and assures Android Oreo updates in the future.
