This Day newspaper also reported that President Buhari has invited the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, to meet with him to discuss the contents of his letter, alleging irregularities in the $24 billion contract awards.

The party described as disgusting what it called a high level of looting in the current administration, expressed shock at "the loud silence of President Buhari on the large corruption, the newspaper said".

The Minister of State had also accused Baru of not being transparent in the handling of affairs of NNPC contrary to the policy of the Buhari-led government that preaches transparency and due process.

"It is in the spirit of service and absolute belief in your leadership and integrity that I have, after one year of tolerating these disrespectful and humiliating conducts by the GMD, made a decision to bring these to your attention", Kachikwu wrote.He called on the President to intervene and "save the office of the Minister of State from further humiliation and disrespect by compelling all parastatals to submit to oversight regulatory mandate and proper supervision".

360nobs had earlier reported that the meeting is expected to start past 11 a.m.

He was first sighted at the Vice-President's Wing of the Presidential Villa before he proceeded to the Office of the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari.

However, Kachikwu declined comments when accosted by State House Correspondents after the meeting and was escorted out of the building by the special adviser media to the president, Femi Adesina.
