CM Kejriwal's Blue Wagon R car stolen from right outside Delhi Secretariat
An iconic blue Maruti WagonR auto that Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal drove around in his early political career and even camped in during an agitation in 2014 was stolen from outside the Delhi Secretariat on Thursday, police said.
The humble Blue hatchback, which became synonymous with Kejriwal's "aam aadmi" image, was being used by an AAP functionary these days.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Mandeep Randhawa said the police registered the FIR around 4 p.m.
The police said that the auto, bearing registration number DL-9CG-9769, was now being used by Aam Admi Party 's (AAP) media coordinator Vandana Singh.
CCTV footages of the area have been analysed.
Bharadwaj said the Lt. Governor's primary responsibility was to look after the law and order situation of the national capital and check whether the police were doing their duty properly.
Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal takes shelter in his blue Wagon R as it rains on the second day of his dharna near Rail Bhavan in New Delhi on September 9, 2014. "The police report to him", he said.
The vehicle had been gifted to Kejriwal by a party supporter.
Mr. Bharadwaj said that if the Lieutenant-Governor fulfilled his primary responsibility of making the city safe, instead of interfering with the work of Delhi government, then cases of theft, murder, rape and other crimes would come down.
