He even went on to add that the military's focus should just be on decisive and overwhelming victory.

The decision reversed a policy initially approved by the Defense Department under President Barack Obama, which was still under final review, that would allow transgender individuals to openly serve in the military.

Ivanka Trump tweeted in June: "I am proud to support my LGBTQ friends and the LGBTQ Americans who have made vast contributions to our society and economy".

Trump's decision is a complete reversal of Obama's ending of the transgender military ban previous year.

President Donald Trump is barring transgender people from serving in the military "in any capacity", citing "tremendous medical costs and disruption". The Pentagon said it would "continue to work closely with the White House to address the new guidance provided by the commander-in-chief", and then brief military officials. "We want to adopt children and raise a family and do it in the military because that's what we know, but this puts a pause on that".

Chelsea Handler released a special message ahead of her Netflix show, in which she simply stated, "I'm sorry a man that has never served in the military a day in his life is denying you the right to serve your country".

Trump, in his tweets recently, said that the country's government will not accept or allow transgender individuals to serve in any capacity in the USA military.

Additionally, allowing transgender people to serve in the military is not a new idea.

Florida Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, a Republican, said, "No American, no matter their sexual orientation or gender identity, should be prohibited from the honor + privilege of serving our nation". Since Oct. 1, transgender troops have been able to receive medical care and start formally changing their gender identifications in the Pentagon's personnel system. "They're patriots & should be applauded not discriminated against by Pres Trump". Banning transgender Americans from serving violates those values. Since this repeal, LGBT persons (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender) people can "proudly serving in the canadian armed forces, and this, free of harassment and discrimination", has noted recently, the ministry of Defence.

Transgender service members have been able to serve openly since past year, after a move by then-Defense Secretary Ash Carter. The Department of Defense spent $41.6 million in 2014 on the erectile-dysfunction drug, or about five times what transgender service members would cost, according to an estimate from the Military Times.

"He's also voiced that this is a very expensive and disruptive policy and based on conversations that he's had with his national security team came to the conclusion that it erodes military readiness and unit cohesion", said Sanders.
