Ghost Recon Wildlands' Ghost War PvP Mode Getting an Open Beta
August 20 2017, 02:10 | Guillermo Bowen
Try the new 'Ghost Recon: Wildlands' PvP mode in beta later this summer
The Ghost Recon Wildlands four-on-four PvP mode that Ubisoft announced in March (but somehow didn't include with the original release) will begin open beta testing later this summer, the publisher announced today. The actual free update is expected to be available in Fall 2017. You guys loved it, and now for competitive players, the the game is about to open up so much more. Additionally, a 4v4 team deathmatch open beta on all platforms - PS4, Xbox One, and PC - is scheduled to arrive later this summer at an unannounced date. What exactly the classes are isn't known right now, but the trailer above shows some players with light or heavy weapons while others are focused on using the game's drone technology to their advantage. Further, matches can take place in all types of weather and during many different times of the day. Istrate cautions that "all of these elements will make team play, communication, and strategic skills more crucial than ever".
In Ghost War, players will choose from a list of classes designed for specific roles, and new PvP mechanics will be introduced.
Has picking off cartel enforcers from half a mile away in Ghost Recon Wildlands gotten stale for you? Barring unforeseen disaster, the full release of the new mode, called Ghost War, will follow sometime in the fall.
