Colangelo refused to identify who the Sixers will select with the No. 1 overall pick, but the presumptive top pick is Washington guard Markelle Fultz. "They have a lot of future assets, and we're going to get a player that we like in addition to some further assets".

Danny Ainge sounded like he was not as sold on Markelle Fultz as others are. The team will receive a 2018 or 2019 draft pick from the 76ers, depending where the 2018 pick ultimately falls.

If the reported deal between the Celtics and 76ers goes down, Boston would reportedly land this year's No. 3 pick as well as either the Lakers' 2018 first-rounder or the Kings' 2019 first-rounder.

Let's not forget, the Celtics are recreating a winning culture in Boston.

With the 2017 NBA Finals over and done with, most teams are now in the midst of retooling. Jackson is now in NY, according to the Celtics president.

The Sixers get the player that best fits their needs at No. 1.

The Cavs have reportedly been contacted by the Indiana Pacers in a potential deal for All-Star Paul George, who will be a free agent after the 2017-18 season.

Kansas Jayhawks guard Josh Jackson.

Who are the likely players that Boston will use its No. 3 pick on? Although Jackson hasn't worked out for the Celtics, interest is there due to his athleticism and dominance on both sides of the court. While there has been some variation on boards, Fultz, Ball and Jackson have become a near-consensus top three in this class. Whoever joins the Celtics on Thursday will have high expectations to produce early with a limited margin for error.

The Philadelphia 76ers are excited to be in position for the second consecutive season to select the No. 1 prospect in the NBA Draft.

"It's very good value for us, and obviously (Philadelphia) wanted that No. 1 pick", said Ainge.

No matter how you feel about Fultz or the return that Ainge got on the trade, it's undoubtedly a major gamble for the Celtics president of basketball ops.

According to ESPN, Ainge said that the trade with Philly was the best offer that Boston received "by a significant margin".

The upcoming draft order is still up for discussion. We came to a conclusion that it was the right situation and the right point in the deal progression that we would make a deal, and we did.

Ainge didn't rule out the possibility that Boston could utilize the No. 3 pick in a secondary move but seemed to hint that the team made this initial move simply because it believed it could add a future pick while still getting its desired player. These three, along with Jayson Tatum and De 'Aaron Fox will impact the National Basketball Association no matter where they go and will have successful careers.
