Cowboys cornerback Nolan Carroll reportedly arrested, charged with DWI

Dallas Cowboys cornerback Nolan Carroll, 30, has been arrested for driving while intoxicated.

He was stopped by Dallas Police for committing an unspecified traffic violation, a police spokesperson told the Dallas Morning News. Carroll was booked into the Dallas County Jail and released Monday afternoon after posting bond.

The Cowboys, who resume organized team activities Tuesday, say they're aware of the situation.

The seven-year National Football League veteran has seven career interceptions, including two last year with the Eagles.

Carroll signed for a base salary of just $1 million, however his signing bonus of $3 million does carry a bit of weight. The former signed with the New York Jets and Carr with the Baltimore Ravens.

Carroll lined up as a starter at the most recent Cowboys OTA's. "He plays a very challenging position, corner, in the NFL".

It is certainly troubling news for a Dallas Cowboys team that purposely rebuilt it's secondary from top to bottom this offseason. He's a smart football player. The Cowboys used their second- and third-round picks on Chidobe Awuzie and Jourdan Lewis, respectively, and each are expected to have significant roles right away.
