I mean, yeah, the guy's name is Han Solo, but it doesn't sound weird in a world where there's a powerful, prophecy-fulfilling warrior named Luke Skywalker. I don't know about you, but I'll feel unusual calling him Han from now on. If he's not careful, however, he could be removed from the press trail when the Han Solo film's promotional campaign starts.
That's great news for Star Wars fans, who are eagerly awaiting the next installment to see what happens to Rey, Finn, Poe and of course, Carrie Fisher's Leia.
There's been a lot of speculation surrounding Woody Harrelson's unnamed Han Solo character. Although now ontisde of Star Wars continuity, Shrike took in Solo as a runaway and raised him alongside a Wookie named Dewlannamapia.
Earlier Thursday, Iger agreed to a one-year extension to his contract as Disney's chairman and CEO, which will extend his term to July 2, 2019. In Rogue One, we had some digital character. That also means there is a better chance for fans to successfully dig some more details out of Iger, or anyone else involved with the movie, every time they so much as utter a single word to the media. Cue Explosion: Han Solo Wasn't Always His Name!? "And everything I saw, was like, I got really jealous about it".
Talking in an interview with Collider, the 55-year-old touched on the film's co-directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller and explained why he thinks the filmmaking duo could end up trumping all of the other Star Wars movies with this one. But Iger reportedly revealed that Disney is looking at what comes well beyond that, exploring "what could be another decade and a half of Star Wars stories".
The "Hunger Games" actor is just one of the big names set to blast onto the big screen in the Han Solo movie.
"You'll also discover how he got his name", Iger revealed (via Variety). It stars Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo, Woody Harrelson as a criminal and Han's mentor, Beckett, Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian and Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca.
